My name is Angie Brown, and I am a freelance writer living in Birmingham, Alabama, with my husband and three sons. Here are a few quick facts about me:
- I currently freelance for Vestavia Hills Magazine and am a regular contributor for the The Barnes & Noble Kids Blog. I’ve enjoyed freelance writing assignments through the years for such magazines as Good Grit, Southern Lady, flower, Portico, Shelby Living, Birmingham, and Wellness Alabama, among others.
- Previously, I worked for a clothing brand (State Traditions–my husband and his good friend co-founded the business in our living room in 2007–check it out!), where I created marketing materials, produced and styled photo shoots, managed the website and e-commerce platform, managed Facebook and Pinterest, edited e-newsletters, and more.
- I practiced law after law school for a short time before deciding to take the plunge and trade in my legal writing for magazine writing. I served as an Assistant Editor at Birmingham magazine and later became Assistant Editor for TeaTime magazine at Hoffman Media. While at Hoffman, I also served as Assistant Editor for Scones & Tea, a hardback book, and the specialty publication TeaTime White House Christmas.
- I am a member of the Junior League of Birmingham and the Vestavia Hills Library in the Forest Junior Board.
